How to make a Japanese Kabuto origami

Amazing step to step guide by Paper

Start with standard origami paper, standard square, no shaping nessacary.

Fold in half, into a right angle triangle. The colour on the outside will be the colour of most of the hat, the colour on the inside will be the trim, keep this in mind with single sided papers.

Fold each corner to the bottom as shown.

Fold both tips to the bottom.

Fold bottom tips to the CENTRE AS SHOWN (This confuses most people so don't worry if you get it wrong). Do this for both sides.

Fold top to below centre of entire paper, you can change this considering how high you would like your "crest". Fold over your excess paper and this will form the trim of the hat.

Flip over, and fold remaining paper into the helmet (Neatly) and Voila! Your Japanese paper Kabuto is ready!

whoops, looks like you're trying to host an image here… to save as much space as possible, it's probably best that you either hotlink images from other sites, or more specifically create an account at a website such as photobucket.com, so you can upload pictures there and keep track of them. ;D

That's pretty awesome. I was never one for origami, unfortunately. Too much tiny folding for my massive hands. D:

I still have my first origami book with this in it. I was looking at some of the models when cleaning my room, and I laughed at how I couldn't do some of them when I was like 7 or 8. Hehe, maybe I'll go back and do some of them now.
